How does payment and invoicing work on ExpertProof?
For this early testing period, payments need to be arranged directly between the proofreader and client. The most common method used is Paypal. If the site works well, then we will integrate a payment system to make it easier for all involved and to support the continued development of the site. To do this, we would of course need to start charging a commission on completed jobs. But we are hoping it will be worth it. We think so.
Is it free for proofreaders to sign up and create a profile?
Yes, it will always be free for proofreaders to sign up and create an account as well as a profile.
Is it free for clients to sign up and create a profile?
Yes, it will always be free for clients to sign up and create an account.
Is there a commission charged by ExpertProof for proofreading jobs that are completed?
Right now we are just testing if this is a good way for professors to find proofreaders. So even if deals happen to be made between proofreaders and clients, at this time they will need to do the invoicing and payment privately. There is no payment method built into the site right now, nor a commission fee charged by ExpertProof. If it seems like the site is a good solution, then we will add a payment system to make the process easier for all. We will continuously need to maintain and improve the site as well as actively find clients for the proofreaders. If this happens we will have to charge a commission to help keep it running, but only on completed jobs.
