My areas of interest include various fields within political science, refugee studies, repatriation issues, resettlement, ethnic mobilization, state dissolution, EU integration, emerging democracies, transition economies, southeast European topics, etc.

The interdisciplinary nature of my MA has me well prepared to tackle many different research topics, from democratization and economic development to film and cultural studies. At the same time, I've focused the main part of my studies on refugee repatriation in the Balkans, which involved in-depth fieldwork, input from stakeholders and extensive desk research.

I’ve worked as an editor and proofreader for several years, with most of my work being in the fields of democratization, economic development, and European integration. I’ve proofread for a prominent peer-reviewed journal on topics in Southeast Europe on a consistent basis, as well as for other academic journals.

The past year has entailed the proofreading of a book on fiscal decentralization in the Balkans; such work does require revisiting one section multiple times, and I’ve always dedicated additional time to rereading any content and working with the author in order to come to a mutually satisfactory version of the text.

I’ve been readily recommended as a thorough, yet efficient, proofreader to professors, researchers and other interested parties.

The working relationships I’ve established with clients have led to me proofreading not just academic texts, but also cover letters, CVs, various proposals and even emails. I take pride in the work I’ve done and the relationships that have come out of it.

Finally, although unrelated to my fields of interest and expertise, I’ve also done quite a bit of proofreading for geophysics proposals. This particular experience has stretched my abilities and pushed me to develop a whole new understanding of what each academic discipline requires for a well-written and clear document.

I am a native English speaker, but because I’ve also grown up speaking Serbian / Croatian and have studied Russian, German and Spanish, I find that I am able to aid a foreign author in making his or her point clearer.
