I first studied Journalism and Contemporary History (BA) at Queen Mary College and City University London, focusing on American, Yugoslav, European and Anglo-Irish history.
I went on to do a Master's in Government, Policy and Politics (MSc), in which I covered British politics, interests, ideas and institutions in public policy, Europe as a global actor and nationalism and ethnic conflict.
I have a wide range of academic interests. Primarily, political systems and institutions, identity in politics and the interaction between politics and history. Beyond that, I read widely on psychology, physics, biology, philosophy and history, and am very interested in how ideas from these fields can be applied to politics.
I have been proofreading for more than 8 years, mostly political science papers for non-native speakers. I started off helping friends and other students with their essays and dissertations, and have since proofread political science papers as well as law and performing arts papers.
I currently proofread news articles, policy papers, academic studies and funding applications for a Brussels-based NGO.
I often work to short deadlines, have successfully proofread works outside my area of expertise and aim to improve readability to strengthen the core argument, as well as ensure it is syntactically and grammatically correct.
I proofread for spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and readability.
I actually love proofreading, especially on topics of interest to me. I have great attention to detail, take pride in my work and love the challenge of improving a piece of text and turning it into a high-quality and powerful work.
